In my book, Question Everything: Overcoming Passivity in a Perilous World, I state outright that I do not have the answers to the many questions that I pose. The reader is encouraged to allow his or her own questions to arise, and to listen in the silence, for answers. The book is meant to lead you on a journey from your head, to your heart, and finally to your soul, in the quest to alleviate the suffering that has been inflicted on our planet. It challenges you to become an agent in its healing process.
Our world faces so many challenges at this stage of our human history. It can feel overwhelming and even futile at times; however, there are numerous groups of people who are boldly asking the right questions and seeking positive change. They are uniting, and bringing awareness and hope to those who have given in to despair.
There are millions of organizations, websites, and blog posts striving to be heard. Not everyone listens to NPR or watches PBS, and even those who do may not have the time to pursue the many programs and podcasts that are aired. There are other books that are well worth reading, and singer/songwriters striving to get their message out there. Documentaries are created with the purpose of exposing the tough issues. Groups of mothers, and youth, are resolving to bring about change for younger generations.
It is my goal to bring the communities of change makers and media together in one place, to assist them in getting their messages spread to a larger audience. I hope to empower them so that we can link arms together around our wounded Earth, to begin the task of healing her from the damage we have done. Our individual goals can merge together into one common goal and facilitate the awakening of our humanity.
