I have been listening to quite a bit of the impeachment proceedings over the past few weeks. It was evident four years ago when Donald Trump was running against Hilary Clinton that he was a dangerous man. I had listened at that time, to his rantings and ravings. Never once did he make his campaign about how he would address the many problems facing our country. He spent the majority of his time and energy on demeaning his opponent. His attitude has always been one of complacency and condescension towards not only the people he dislikes and illegal immigrants, but towards the American people.
I couldn’t help noticing that many of the congress men and women who are defending his deplorable actions, just like Trump, speak very loudly, vehemently, and passionately. It seems that those people who fear not being heard and who adamantly believe they are right, refuse to hear what others have to say and are incapable of speaking in a calm and thoughtful manner. They seem compelled to always yell as though those, to whom they are speaking, are hard of hearing.
One of the complaints of Trump’s defenders is that the impeachment process is being rushed through. It most definitely needs to be fast tracked! Anyone or anything which jeopardizes our government, our people, and our planet should be dealt with in the swiftest manner possible. This applies to all of the corruption that has been running rampant, due to corporate greed. We need to eliminate all of the evils that threaten life on this planet. Trump must be stopped before he can render any more damage. His defenders lament, like children, that the impeachment “isn’t fair”. This sounds just like a child who pouts because he doesn’t get to have his own way.
Trump’s comment that, “I can do whatever I want!” is evidence of his spoiled, infantile behavior and his abuse of the executive power that has been granted to him. He is a danger not only to our own country, but to our planet. As many others have said, he is a threat to our security and to our democracy. He is a pathological liar who believes in his own mind, that he “has done nothing wrong”. The worst lie that a perpetual liar tells, is the one he tells himself.
