An entire school district has been closed in Colorado, because of a flu-like illness that is spreading through many of the students. Every year, the medical machine plants its seeds of fear by warning people to get flu shots. And, every year some new virus or flu strain emerges and many of those who received their flu shots, become ill in spite of it. Whenever a virus begins to sweep through a community it ignites a near pandemic. The fear then spreads like wildfire, which gives the virus more power to grow. The fear creates the perfect environment for the virus to proliferate.
Children will be rushed to emergency rooms and doctors’ offices and hospitals in their parents’ efforts to seek a miracle drug to cure them. They are certain that the answers lie out there somewhere, with the doctors and the scientists and the pharmacists. They continue to look for ways to make the symptoms go away, rather than seeking the true cause of the illness.
In all of these scenarios, it is only a small percentage of people who succumb to the attacks of disease. Why do some get sick, and others do not? It is because those who believe that they are healthy and believe that they are immune to what is going around have not allowed fear to consume them. They have faith in their body’s intelligence and its ability to maintain health; but more importantly, they simply have other things to think about. Those, whose minds are consumed with fear and the belief that they will probably become ill, draw illness to them. The greatest thing a parent can do for her child is to instill in him the belief in health, to provide for him a healthy diet, and to encourage a healthy lifestyle which includes daily exercise and fresh air. Set for him, an example, and teach him to be fearless, NOT fearful.
