Although I do not proclaim loyalty to any particular political party, I have been following the democratic debates. I still recall the sinking feeling that I had the morning after learning that Donald Trump had won the last election. I believe that our country, and in fact the world, has been engulfed in a dangerous predicament since that day.
Today, while the first public hearing for impeachment is underway, I was surprised to hear a Trump supporter state that our congress and the American people should serve the president. He could not be more wrong. We elect our president because we believe he is the best person to serve the people. The only thing that Trump is interested in serving is his own personal agenda.
Is he really foolish enough to run for a second term? His impeachment is imminent and his popularity has plunged all the way to the sewer. He would be better off to tuck his tail between his legs and retreat to lick his wounds.
I have also been following the campaign of Marianne Williamson. I have read many of her books over the years and I admire her for her courage to enter the election. During the first debates, I was not yet convinced that she would be the best candidate, but as I have listened to many of her talks and interviews, I have come to the conclusion that she is without a doubt, exactly who our country needs at this time. Not only our country, but the entire planet is in dire need of her “politics of love”.
