Our country needs more than just our vote. It needs our prayers. Last night’s presidential debate was so hard to watch and I pitied the moderator, Chris Wallace, who struggled to keep the conversation civil. Trump was in his usual form of mud slinging, bragging, and exaggerating. I prayed that Biden would not allow Trump to push his buttons and deter him from his focus. Considering Trump’s near constant interruptions and talking out of turn, Biden did pretty well at staying centered and not allowing Trump to make him waver off course – until Trump began attacking his son. (I am certain that most loving parents would not tolerate someone berating their child, which by the way, had nothing to do with the purpose of the debates.)
Biden truly wanted to share his vision with the people, for healing the disparities in our country and the degradation of our planet. He spoke with sincerity despite the numerous personal attacks by Trump. Biden has plans to help this country up and out of the problems it is facing. Trump has no detailed plans for dealing with our current problems. His only agenda is to repeal Obama Care and to overturn Roe versus Wade. He could care less about the pandemic, the racism, or the economic crisis that is tearing this country apart. He over simplified issues with words like “millions” or “billions”, providing no factual numbers to back his statements. Trump’s vocabulary has not improved over his nearly four years in office, again resorting to his favorite expression, “It’s a disaster.” Much of what he said were outright lies, such as saying that “everyone” was happy with the way things turned out, or that “everyone” approved of what he did. Clearly, everyone is not happy with his track record, which is why they went to so much trouble to impeach him – and why 1,200 books have been written about him. I am certain that, like a serial killer, he is relishing in the publicity.
For the nearly four years that this pathetic excuse for a man has been in office, I have refused to preface his name with “president”. He is not worthy. He is an embarrassment to this country. I will be praying every day for the restoration of peace in our country, before Trump and his cronies lead us into another civil war. We cannot allow him to stay for another four years or he will lead us all straight to hell. I am praying that more people will awaken and throw away the wool that he has thrown over their eyes. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Please, pray with me. Our country and our planet need your prayers now.
