What if the number of Covid19 cases and resulting deaths, would be about the same even if the extreme measures that have been taken, had not been implemented? It is very likely that the people who have succumbed to the disease would have done so regardless how much hand-washing, sanitizing, and social distancing they practiced. Those with low tolerance, those with compromised immune systems, and those who are driven by fear would have been vulnerable in spite of the precautions taken. Healthier individuals and those who are not easily swayed would and have remained healthy. So why have such extreme measures been forced upon so much of the world? Are the governances responsible for these stay-at-home orders so blind that they cannot see what this will lead to?
I have heard the axiom that desperate people do desperate things. When those who know nothing about growing their own food or being at least semi-self-sufficient, will they turn to crime in order to feed their children? Most likely. With millions of people out of work and facing financial devastation, we are certain to see a spike in robberies, burglaries, rapes, and even murder. Sure, it would be nice to believe that all people are basically good and they will turn this trouble into opportunity. Some will make lemonade from lemons. Some will take up gardening for the first time in their lives. Others will discover new ways to utilize their talents and knowledge to help heal our broken world. Neighbors will get to know their neighbors. The world sits on a precipice. Will it be the beginning of healing for our planet, or will it become the cornerstone for utter chaos and a new dark age?
There is never a safe moment. Lives can change in seconds. Catastrophe and chaos can strike at any minute. If it wasn’t Covid19, it would be something else. Our mistake is in believing all the bull we hear on the news. Our biggest mistake is in believing that we can control anything. The media has brainwashed most people into believing that all of the measures taken has controlled the virus. We are being lied to and we must see through the smokescreen that is blurring our vision of the truth. The fear of getting sick is as nothing compared to the fear that will ensue for those who fear poverty and homelessness. That fear is becoming a reality for many. The pandemic was a mere spark. The resulting chaos will be the real tipping point. Will we contribute to the growing fear – or will we awaken to the greater potentiality of the human race?
